the art of a meaningful meal

Sobremesa

noun   /sobɾe'meza/

What does it mean to us? That feeling you get during that time spent after enjoying a healthy living food you lovingly grew & prepared yourself with good friends and family.  Losing track of time enjoying relaxing and enjoying good conversation. That meal that provides healthy nourishment, stress relief, a sense of community, and the natural movement from growing and preparing great food.

Meet Cheleen

It wasn’t until I was told I had a deadly form of thyroid cancer that I decided I absolutely had to take control of my health and learn everything I could to help my body fight this horrible disease. I wasn’t ready to die, and I didn’t want to lose my thyroid and undergo radiation. As a young girl, I had seen the damage that cancer treatment could do to a person and how it ravaged my mother physically and mentally when she had a double mastectomy in her late 20s.

If you’re like me, you’ve suffered from multiple health issues and had trouble finding answers to your health questions, or worse just been told to take this prescription for the rest of your life and sent home! After years of dealing with chronic fatigue, skin cancer, polycystic ovaries, heavy menses, debilitating cramps, thyroid nodules, pre-eclampsia, thyroid storms, weight

issues, vertigo, depression, major mood swings, miscarriage, spiking high blood pressure, melanoma, and then thyroid cancer, I had had enough!!!!

I needed to take control of my health, get off all the dangerous medications, and figure out how to heal my body.

It's not that I hadn’t been trying to be healthy all those years. I tried every diet that came out, took every supplement that was the new “miracle” pill, bought every hot new book or gizmo, and saw way too many “ologists” (doctors who specialize in one area) but still felt like crap!

I have been fortunate to learn from some of the leading experts in the field of Whole Foods and the Living Foods lifestyle and fueled by this education about nutrition, movement, stress, and relaxation, Sobremesa was born. We are on a mission to help people avoid mass confusion and take control of their health with a Living Whole Foods Lifestyle. This lifestyle requires natural movement, a reason to get out of bed every day, social interaction, and especially in these crazy times, methods to de-stress!

That’s what Sobremesa Life is all about. It’s about growing and Eating Plant Based Foods, Moving like a child, Finding your tribe, Living your passion, and Letting that shit go. It’s about healing yourself the natural way!
